History
Throughout its 117-year history, The First American Corporation has endeavored to be a good corporate citizen-giving back to the communities in which we do business. Through voluntary re-investment in the form of financial contributions, technical expertise, and employee volunteerism, we've adhered to the philosophy that a company can "do well by doing good." However, First American's efforts in the past have been decentralized and fragmented, diluting our effectiveness in bringing lasting, positive change to our communities.
With the formation of the First American Homeownership Foundation in February 2006, we are focusing and streamlining our philanthropy for maximum positive impact. Through this coordinated effort, we are harnessing the true strength of our 35,000-employee, Fortune 500 ® -level corporation to help build a foundation for prosperity in all communities across the nation.
