About the Foundation

The First American Homeownership Foundation is a focused philanthropic effort by The First American Corporation to increase homeownership within America's under-served communities.

WHY WE GIVE

At First American, we believe that homeownership is the cornerstone of strong communities, and that increasing homeownership benefits everyone. Today, however, homeownership is not uniformly accessible, particularly in under-served communities where aspiring homeowners lack the information and resources needed to claim their part of the American Dream. Our goal is to work alongside established and trusted nonprofit organizations striving to put homeownership within reach for all Americans.

WHAT WE SUPPORT

We provide grants and in-kind contributions to nonprofit organizations committed to:

  • Affordable Housing Development
  • Homebuyer Education
  • Real Estate Financial Literacy
  • Neighborhood Revitalization

To remain true to our mission and effective in our actions, the Foundation does not award grants outside of the above four areas.

WHERE WE GIVE

The Foundation supports local, regional, and national programs and initiatives aligned with the four commitment areas noted above. While there are no geographic exclusions, we are focused currently on the following regions: California, Nevada, Arizona, Illinois, Georgia, Florida, New York, Massachusetts, Washington D.C., and the Pacific Northwest. These locations contain large consumer populations that can most directly benefit from our support.
